"I kept asking God to change my circumstances. Instead, He changed the way I could see."
For years, I thought darkness was my enemy.
I blamed it for my fear.
My confusion.
My loneliness.
The addiction.
The betrayal.
The nights I questioned whether any of this had purpose.
I prayed for God to take me out of it.
But looking back...
I don't think darkness was ever the lesson.
It was the classroom.
I spent years believing that if I could just gather enough knowledge, enough wisdom, enough evidence... I'd finally become strong enough to carry the weight of the world.
So I chased answers.
I built systems.
I tried to become the solution.
Every burden became my responsibility.
Every injustice became my fight.
Every hurting person felt like someone I was supposed to save.
I confused compassion with ownership.
I mistook conviction for calling.
And eventually...
I was crushed beneath a weight God never asked me to carry.
Then Christ did something I wasn't expecting.
He didn't hand me a map.
He gave me Himself.
Not because I needed better information...
Because I needed a better Shepherd.
For the first time, I understood that faith isn't seeing farther.
It's trusting deeper.
The darkness didn't disappear overnight.
There were still questions.
Still losses.
Still waiting.
Still days when I couldn't see beyond tomorrow.
But something had changed.
The darkness no longer had the final word.
Because I had finally learned to recognize the One speaking inside it.
The Voice came before the Light.
And once I knew His Voice...
I stopped being afraid of where He was leading me.
Now when I look back across my life, I don't see random suffering.
I see preparation.
The addiction taught me compassion.
The betrayal taught me discernment.
The loneliness taught me dependence.
The failures taught me humility.
The waiting taught me patience.
The darkness taught me to recognize Light.
None of it was wasted.
None of it was outside His reach.
Every season became another stone in the foundation He was laying beneath a life I couldn't yet understand.
Today...
I don't thank God because I finally know where the road ends.
I thank Him because I know Who walks beside me.
The path is still unfolding.
There are still rivers to cross.
There are still mountains to climb.
There are still chapters left to write.
But I'm no longer walking toward the Light.
I'm walking with Him.
And that has made all the difference.
Blueprint Principle
Faith isn't the ability to see the whole path.
It's the willingness to keep walking with the One who does.
Scripture
"For we walk by faith, not by sight."
2 Corinthians 5:7
Founder's Reflection
"I thought the miracle would be that God removed the darkness. The greater miracle was discovering He had never left me in it."
